SHOW TITLE: IBC
PRODUCTION COMPANY: IBC
BROADCASTER: IBC TV NEWS
ROLE: Segment Director / Camera Operator
THE BRIEF:
To design, plan, operate and organise the filming of the conference rooms at IBC. To produce a live feed for IBC TV News channel in which they will use the conference footage, content for online, video feeds to monitors and screens around the venue and recorded sessions for on-demand content thought out the year.
THE EXECUTION:
Each year I was in charge of taking on the planning, preparation and design of the camera side for up to 4 conference rooms so that the content can be used for a 24h News channel, online, and at the venue.
Choosing the kit and cameras to be used, the positions of the cameras, how they will be rigged, power, data, audio and video signals, recording, video mixing, monitoring, colouring, CCU operation/configuration, audio channels, audio delay, talkback and distribution, were all undertaken.
Cameras included over the years were Panasonic hotheads, Sony hotheads and Sony studio cameras with studio lenses.
After the planning stage has been executed, I then took on a crew to receive the kit and to rig the conference rooms under my management. Testing and linking to the other departments where required to make sure a smooth flawless operation would take place during the 4-5day conference.
